I have been using this service as long as it's been around. Anytime we've had weather problems, boat problems. These guys got us to our island! Now I rely on them solely to get me to the Islands and unlike my boat, they have never fail me.

Beach drop off and pick up, special deliveries, construction material and trash haul away, they just do it all. I typically take my own boat but find if weather is a worry this option eliminates the stress. It has opened options to go for many family members who don't own a boat large enough to cross Rosario Staight.

Took the trip to Vendovi with Island Express and Skagit Guided Adventures and they were great! They took us by great birding spots and even slowed down so we could see a pod of Orcas!

We love having Island Express available to visit our remote cabin. Good staff and great community feeling on the boats. You need to give them time to get back to you about scheduling but if you build that in to the process it's not a big deal. I leave a message and usually hear within a day or two.

Great operation. They get into the spots other boats can't. If you leave a message they will get back to you with in 2hr. As long as you treat this service like you would an airline trip or train schedule and show up on time then you experience will be great. If you are late you will be left behind. They have many stops at times and need to leave on time so as to get people to where they want to go in a timely manor.

My husband & I have been using Island Express Charters for years to get to our cabin on Sinclair Island. They're amazing. 2 boats ferrying people to various San Juan Islands, usually the ones not serviced by the Ferries. Decatur, Blakey, Center, Sinclair, and many more. The owner is so nice (Scott, he's new). Scott has kept all the things that were working, improved the things that weren't. We Love the Captains!! Everyone is very nice, helpful & skilled.

For those of you not familiar, they aren't like a ferry where they have regular published times. You call, tell them when & where, and they will let you know the available times. It's like a personalized ferry. They can often drop you off on your beach if you have a beachfront cabin (not always). Don't forget, the times are very dependent on the tides!!

The boats are bow-loaders, with a lot of room inside. Very easy to load & unload stuff & people. They are functional work boats though. So don't expect fancy. They can also move cargo for you. Lumber, small tractors, 4-wheelers, etc.

This is an excellent provider of transportation services among the San Juan Islands. A family owned business that goes out of its way to meet the needs of their many customers scattered among the various islands that do not enjoy ferry service from the state ferry system.

My Mom and Dad had just passed. So I had a friend in Anacortes help me set up a date and time to schedule a run to Alexander Beach and then down to Biz Point. We arrived from the Tri Cities early and was told that we could leave anytime. I thought that we were going on a small boat and was worried because Mom's sister and husband were a little unsteady on their feet, but so was I. They used a larger boat that was very easy to board and very comfortable with inside seating. Not needed for this weekend. All sun and no wind.

I really appreciate the young captain for granting our wishes for positioning the boat for a great view of Mom's house, which I had never seen from the water before. And his respect for our privacy. THANKS

I made a reservation months in advance to go to Sucia Island with 18 people after our wedding. The boat was way more spacious than they indicated. There was more than enough room if all 20 wanted to sit inside and there was a lot of room on the bow. They were perfectly on time and even suggested that we come back an hour before sunset so we could be traveling as the sun goes down.

Doe Bay Music Festival is out on Orcas Island (at... wait for it! DOE BAY!), and rather than sit in ferry traffic and drive all over the island, I decided to try the foot ferry. Straight from Anacortes to the beach at Doe Bay.

Parking at the Anacortes docks was the only issue -- I found some street parking, but had a note when I got back that overnight parking wasn't allowed. No ticket, so I think that was just some local throwing the notes around. Whatever the case, there's a pay lot not too far away.

The Island Express boat was comfy enough, and they had a special price for folks heading to the music festival. Looks like they also do drop offs and routes to other locations around the islands, so if you're headed to San Juan or elsewhere, don't need a car, and don't want to deal with Ferries, this is a great option.
